STEP-IN DESIGN · NO-PULL · 3M REFLECTIVE · LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINIUM · PADDED

If getting the harness on has become a daily wrestle, the Pimlico is your answer. Its step-in design means your faithful companion simply places their paws in and you fasten, no tugging anything over their head, no fuss, no stress, for dogs who dislike that moment as much as you do. Lightweight aviation-grade aluminium fittings make it effortless to put on and take off, while soft padding on the chest and belly keeps your gentle giant comfortable through the whole walk. Questions Pet Parents Also Ask

What is a step-in harness and why choose one?

A step-in harness is designed so your dog places their front paws through two openings, after which you simply lift and fasten it over the back, rather than pulling anything over their head. This makes it ideal for dogs who dislike having a harness passed over their face and ears, who are head-shy, or who wriggle and resist during dressing. It is also quicker and easier for the owner, turning a potential daily struggle into a simple few seconds. For dogs that find traditional overhead harnesses stressful, a step-in design like the Pimlico can transform the whole experience of getting ready for a walk into something calm and easy.

Are step-in harnesses good for dogs that pull?

Step-in harnesses can be very effective for dogs that pull, particularly those with two attachment points like the Pimlico. Attaching the lead spreads pressure across the body rather than concentrating it on the neck, protecting the throat and giving better control, while a second attachment point offers additional gentle no-pull management. As with any harness, it works best combined with consistent lead training. The step-in design does not compromise on control, offering the same pulling protection as other harness styles while adding the significant benefit of being far easier and less stressful to put on, which many owners of strong or lively dogs greatly appreciate.

Why are aluminium fittings better on a harness?

Aviation-grade aluminium fittings offer a valuable combination of strength and lightness. Aluminium is considerably lighter than steel while remaining strong and durable, which keeps the overall harness light and comfortable for the dog to wear, without sacrificing security. Lighter fittings also make the harness easier to handle when putting it on and taking it off. Because aviation-grade aluminium is corrosion-resistant, it holds up well to weather and daily use over time. On the Pimlico, these lightweight yet sturdy fittings contribute to a harness that is both effortless to use and dependable, a genuine advantage for everyday walks with dogs of all sizes.

How do I measure my dog for a step-in harness?

Measuring for a step-in harness centres on the chest girth. Use a soft tape measure around the widest part of your dog's chest, just behind the front legs, and note the measurement. For the best fit with room to adjust, choose a size whose maximum chest measurement is around 2 inches larger than your dog's, which allows space for a comfortable, secure fit. If your dog's chest measurement is close to the maximum for a size, choose the next size up. A correctly fitted step-in harness should sit snugly without restricting movement, allowing two fingers between the straps and the body, and check the fit regularly for growing dogs.
